My Story

Drena’s love of yoga started 15 years ago while training for a half marathon. As a self declared “non-runner” she added yoga to her training regime to help manage the physical symptoms of her training schedule. She quickly realized that this thing called yoga was much more than just a cure for physical ailments. In 2014 she completed her 200 hour YTT with Meghan Currie in Nicaragua. This month long transformative journey allowed her to connect to her inner healer and that innate wisdom that lies within each of us. Drena  has since completed her 500 hour YTT and is also trained in teaching yin yoga, mantra, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, chair yoga and myofascial release.

She has been teaching locally for 11 years earning her 200 E-RYT designation.  She has facilitated yoga teacher training programs and co-facilitated international and local retreats.  She is a firm believer that every one of us has a unique gift to be shared with this world and that the process of yoga empowers us to shine our best light on those around us. For Drena, teaching is a way of sharing this light and love and connecting to many amazing humans. It is Drena’s intention to make you feel good in your body and bring awareness to the gift that lies within each of us. Inspiring others to truly live life, not just exist within it.
